I was a frog who lived at the edge of a great river. As a good swimmer, I assisted tourists to cross the river,
\nspreading my kindness to the world. However, I would never forget that day when a scorpion came by\u2026<\/p>\n
On that day, it was raining cats and dogs. I heard the ground shaking \u2013 a scorpion came with his frightening
\nsting thicker than a hundred-year wood. My heart could not help pounding and I eyed him warily.<\/p>\n
I expressed my fear, aiming to decently reject the potential request, \u201cI\u2019ve heard of your kind. I see the stinger
\nyou hide behind your back. I wish I could help you, but I cannot risk it\u201d.<\/p>\n
He showed me the sting, probably attempting to gain my trust, \u201cWhy would I sting you?\u201d, he reasoned. \u201cIf
\nyou die, we would both drown.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWho would lie at the cost of death!\u201d, the kindness deep from my heart and the logical pattern of thinking
\nmade me feel so. Therefore, I agreed to the request, and it was another day of spreading kindness.<\/p>\n
The scorpion climbed atop my back, and I began to swim across the river. The huge waves of water were
\nsmashing my body, and I used all my power to move forward.<\/p>\n
Suddenly, I felt an itch, and then severe pain in my back and the organs inside my body seemed to be
\nburning. It was scorpion poison!<\/p>\n
I cried out, bearing extreme pain, \u201cWhy did you sting me? You have killed us both!\u201d<\/p>\n
The last sentence I heard was still in my mind when I entered heaven, \u201cI couldn\u2019t help it. It\u2019s my nature.\u201d<\/p>\n
