Suffered and fortunately recovered from serious gun shot by Taliban, Yousafzai must had held great
courage and resilience to make the speech about education and women rights. As such, I admire her
braveness to speak out for the priority of providing education.
Preventing certain groups from perceiving education has long been a tool to manipulate the disadvantaged
or underprivileged individuals. I have read that few women in ancient had the right to receive education due
to moral customs to nurture women into virtuous wives and capable mothers. In many cases,
underprivileged families had to send their children to work as child labor and relinquish the right of getting
educated. Even today, mirroring Yousafzai’s speech, Taliban were preventing girls from receiving education
since 6th grade and shutting down women’s right to enter universities, practice certain jobs and so on.
Many ideas are powerful and impressive among these topics. Conclusively, the discrimination and
manipulation stemmed from education must be eliminated to create a just and peaceful world. It is unjust to
suppress women’s voices simply because their voices were against one’s profits.
Nevertheless, we must admit there must be impediments during the promoting of education, like realistic
problems like poverty, challenges when reaching remote areas, lack of educational resources, etc. Women
must hold the believe that education would generate no harm and bring benefits to them too. As a result, I
would like to know more details about the dilemma like the situation of educational funding over the world,
educational resources in underdeveloped areas and country leaders’ perspective on promoting education.
Women’s ideas and perspectives on education should also be considered.
While there must be challenges ahead, I, again, admire the voices that were brave enough to speak it out.
