居庸关长城位于北京西北约50公里处，是万里长城久负盛名的关隘。由于居庸关长城地形险要，古时就被称为“天下第一雄关”。现存遗址系明代建筑，城周约13华里，跨翠屏、金柜两山之间。居庸关除建有南北翁城、城楼、敌台、水门等功能各异的配套建筑，构成完整严密的军事防御体系以外，城内还有元代所建过街塔塔基，名为“云台”。台下刻有四天王、十方佛等精美的石雕图案，六种不同文字的经文，是研究元代宗教和各民族文化交流的重要依据，是现存元代石雕艺术的精美杰作。

Due to its strategically important terrain, it was known in ancient times as “the First and Most Mighty Pass Under Heaven.” The existing ruins date back to the Ming Dynasty, with a circumference of approximately 13 li (about 6.5 kilometers), straddling the Cuiping and Jingui Mountains.
